What’s B Corp all about?

We first came across B Lab a couple of years ago and were immediately taken by their ambitious and admirable vision: that one day all companies will compete not only to be the best in the world but be the best for the world. It’s lofty, but who wouldn’t strive for this?

B Lab is a non-profit organisation that supports and inspires a global movement of people striving to use business as a force for good. These businesses are known as B Corps. To be awarded B Corp status you have to meet high standards of overall social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability, verified by the good people at B Lab.

B Corp businesses don’t claim to be perfect but they are all alike in their motivation to do more and grow in the right way. There are more than 2,400 Certified B Corporations in over 130 industries and 65 countries but they have 1 unifying goal – to redefine success in business, looking at measures that matter, not just the bottom line.

Here at PROPERCORN, we’re always striving to do things better – for our team, the planet, and the people within it. Getting certification is certainly validation that we’re growing in the right way but, more than that, it’s motivation to do more. This year we’ll be working hard to build an even better PROPERCORN, learning from the people in B Corp community who are absolute trailblazers in purpose driven business.
