What to look out for at LFW SS17?

Today’s the day – London fashion week is upon us. Londoners, front your most street-style worthy outfit and throw on your comfiest kicks. As (organised) chaos descends on the capital, we’re scoping out the best LFW has to offer – from events and shows, to shopping spots and free fashion week snacks. Here are five things to look out for over the next five days.

Running from Mulberry to Marques’Almeida with no time for lunch? Fear no more – we’re proud to say we’ll be fuelling the models, designers and guests with our guilt-free popcorn for the 10th season in a row this London Fashion Week. Look out for our six bold favourites, along with our new half-popped sibling: Crunch Corn, served in four familiar flavours.

2. Street Style

It wouldn’t be fashion week without partaking in the exercise of people watching. Look out for the regulars like blogging pioneer Susie Lau, The Sunday Times Style’s Fashion Features Editor and resident Wardrobe Mistress, Pandora Sykes, and Vogue’s Fashion News Editor Julia Hobbs, who are bonafide street style pros.

3. New Talent

It’s a no-brainer, but obviously we’re most looking forward to the shows. From NEWGEN favourites Ashley Williams and Ryan Lo, to House of Holland’s ever up-beat showcase – the SS17 schedule offers a unique blend of both established and emerging designers. Look out for NEWGEN’s latest recruit for SS17, Royal College of Art graduate Paula Knorr. Expect unexpected fabric combinations and 80s driven power-pieces aplenty.

4. Runway-to-Retail

The future of fashion is changing and Topshop have embraced the movement this season with their new Runway-to-Retail initiative. Debuting globally on the 18th of September 2016, the concept will see select styles from their September 2016 show available to buy the minute the last model leaves the runway. In other words, you could be wearing the new Topshop UNIQUE collection to Monday’s shows.

5. Spitalfields Market Stalls

This season Topshop are curating a series of market stalls at their new show venue: Old Spitalfields Market. Open to the public all day on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September, there will be customisation from NEWGEN designers, a Topshop Beauty outlet and a pop-up selling pieces from the new Topshop Unique collection straight after the show. Meanwhile the rest of the space will be occupied by a variety of London-based fashion and design brands, selected in collaboration with pop-up pundits Appear Here.
